As long as the WebDynpro police remain in power, your ability to innovate on the UI front is unlikely. The "Dynpro-ization" of some other innovative SAP technologies has greatly limited their utility (and innovation) and cost untold numbers of person-days to morph them into the bland SAP look and functionality.

Regarding the installation of the twitter plugin: WordPress 2.7 makes it even easier
1. Expand "Plugins" on the sidebar and select "Add New"
2. Search for the plugin from inside the WordPress admin area, select and install
3. Activate
